The
organization is administered through a National Council with
a National President at the helm. Working within the frame of
the Act of Parliament No. 10 of 1986, a special body of rules
was adopted by the membership in 1994 to govern the activities
of the National Council. This Council brings together the expanding
services and promotes a sense of uniformity within the branches.
Each branch is represented at the National Council enjoying
one vote each. The general powers of the National Council include
the right to monitor and evaluate the activities of all the
Branches to ensure that they do not contravene the aims and
objectives of Sri Lanka Sumithrayo. The National Council is
elected at the Annual General Meeting where an Annual Report
is presented by the Chairperson, with an audited statement of
accounts. |
