Volunteers

People who are burdened with emotional difficulties contact us and have the assurance of confidential support that can be given only by a trained Volunteer. Many Volunteers are trained but only a few are registered.  Sumithrayo is a disciplined organization and expects Volunteers to adhere to all the rules and regulations which for many is difficult to follow. Sumithrayo is very selective. The community should check on the authenticity of the branch before they seek help because today, like in many areas of social interaction, there are impostors.

Our Volunteers work silently and anonymously as far as possible. We have a handful of professionally trained paid employees. No fees are charged from the callers who visit a branch or make contact by telephone or email. Neither are the Volunteers entitled to any financial remuneration. Sumithrayo Volunteers work for others not for themselves but unwittingly they change their values and perceptions along the way thus gaining and growing from within.
